6 Ways to Improve Google Pixel User Experience

6 Ways to Improve Google Pixel User Experience

Google launched its first-ever Pixel smartphone back in 2016. Earlier, Google had collaborated with other manufacturers for the hardware of its previous phones known as Nexus. With Pixel, Google started using its own hardware as well as software. Moreover, the series of Pixel phones has stood out with a number of exceptional features that are difficult to find in other Android phones. For Pixel owners, there are several ways to use the phone and experience better.

Tips and tricks to get the most out of Pixel phones
The latest phones, such as Google Pixel 8, Google Pixel 8 Pro, and Google Pixel Fold, have a lot of advanced features that take the Pixel experience to the next level. But it is not necessary to upgrade to a new Google Pixel with every release to get the best out of the phone. These tips and tricks work well with older models, such as the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro. However, the older Pixel phones may require software updates.

Whether one has a newer Pixel or an older model, here are some ways to make the best use of the features provided by the brand, improving user experience.

1.
Ch ange the expression in a photo
The latest releases from Google, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, have the Best Take feature. It is an AI-enabled feature with which a person’s facial expression can be changed in a photo. To use this feature, one has to click several photos of the exact moment in a row so that the software can create the most accurate expression. For example, if a person’s eyes are closed in a photo, the face can be swapped with another from any other photos taken at the same time. To use the Best Take feature, head over to the Edit menu, and Best Take will be found in the Tools section.

2. Get automated menu on screen
When trying to reach customer service, it’s typical to navigate through automated menus. However, listening to all options can be time-consuming and frustrating. Fortunately, Google Pixel offers a useful feature that displays the menu directly on the screen. This transcription feature is available on both older and newer Pixel phones, making it easier for users to find and select the desired option quickly.

3. Transform a photo into a cinematic wallpaper
The Google Pixel 7 and the newer models can transform any photo in the library into a cinematic wallpaper. This feature uses a 3D effect to highlight the subject in the foreground and create a stunning appearance. This effect works best for photos with one or two subjects. To turn a photo into a cinematic wallpaper, follow these simple steps. Head over to the settings menu and select the Wallpaper & Style option. Choose to change the wallpaper through the photos option, select a photo, and click the icon with three stars. Finally, toggle on the option to create stunning cinematic wallpaper.

4. Translate a screenshot in a different language
Using the Google Photos app, it is possible to get English text translations through screenshots. The source language can be German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, or any other option. All that is needed is to select the screenshot of the text from the Photos app and use the Lens feature. Further, using the Translate option, the text in the screenshot can be converted to English.

5. Try the Quick Tap option to take screenshots or open apps
Pixel phones come with the handy Quick Tap feature. With this, one can automatically play or stop media running in the background, take a screenshot, or open an app by double-tapping on the back of the phone. To use this feature, simply go to Settings > System > Gestures > Quick Tap and toggle on the Use Quick Tap. One can choose an action and then activate it.

6. Screen calls
Automated spam calls can be easily screened with Google Pixel phones. With the Call Screen feature, one can enable Google Assistant to answer an unknown call. If it is an automated spam call, it will hang up instantly. One can see these conversations and decide to answer the call if it seems the caller is real and not computer-generated. However, this feature doesn’t screen calls from saved contacts. To use this feature, go to Settings > Call Screen. Toggle on the See Caller and Spam ID options. Furthermore, one can choose through this menu which calls to screen, such as spam calls, fake numbers, private or hidden callers, and first-time callers.
